The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company is seeking community support to help purchase a dedicated fire-rescue boat for Sacandaga Lake, a critical resource that will enhance our ability to protect residents and visitors on and around the water. Our members are highly trained in surface water rescue, swift water rescue, and emergency boat operations, and several serve on the Tri-County Swiftwater Rescue Team, responding to emergencies throughout the region. As recreational use of Sacandaga Lake continues to grow, so does the need for specialized equipment that allows responders to quickly and safely reach people in distress. A fire-rescue boat would significantly improve emergency response times, increase rescuer safety, and provide lifesaving capabilities when every second counts.
